Stingrays at Hamelin Bay

On a recent adventure down the coast of Western Australia we took a detour in to Hamelin Bay to check out the beach. The caravan park is situated right on the beach and there are plenty of shady spots to enjoy this perfect bit of our coast. Fishing and diving are able to be done straight off the coast, in a boat or out of a kayak. One of the best times of the year to enjoy it is March-April when the weather is fair and the salmon are running along the beach. These feisty fish are fantastic fun to catch and are also edible to those of you who are willing to take the time to bleed them and cook them up.

A pastime that many people visit this area for is to feed and see the friendly stingrays that come right in to shore near the boatramp . You can stand right in the water with them and hand feed them fish.IMG_1577
